Stewart Brothers Nurseries Ltd. is a wholesale tree
nursery specializing in growing prairie hardy deciduous and
coniferous trees
(Zones 1, 2 and 3). Established in 1911, it is one of the oldest
operating nurseries in Canada.
The head office and original nurseries are located in Kelowna, B.C. (256 acres),
with other growing fields located in Grand Forks (256 acres) and Midway (220 acres) B.C. With
over 700 acres in cultivation - the rich soils, long and dry summers
throughout the Okanagan and Kootenay valleys allow the production of
high quality prairie hardy nursery stock.
All trees are field grown. Smaller trees,
4' to 5' up to 1.5"
caliper, are grown in containers. Caliper trees and conifers are
available machine dug in wire baskets and root pruned annually.
Stewart Brothers Nurseries Ltd. supplies retail nurseries,
garden centers, wholesale nurseries, tree lots, commercial and
residential
landscapers, golf courses, contractors, developers, municipalities,
cities and towns.
